June, 2021: W3+ Fair, the enabling technologies trade show, is the place where forward-looking optics, photonics, electronics and mechanics enterprises will meet for the 2nd hosting of this event at the Messequartier Dornbirn exhibition centre. The event is an opportunity for high-tech providers to network in person, and collaborate with application industries in the development…
June, 2021: Super-resolution imaging of RNA transcripts using multiplex error robust fluorescence in situ hybridization (MERFISH) and related methods in combination with the CELESTA Light Engine® [1] requires higher levels of irradiance (mW/mm2) than can be obtained from Koehler illumination. To facilitate these applications, Lumencor has developed a series of epi-lluminators that provide uniform illumination…
June, 2021: Ceres T 640 has been announced today as the new high performance thermographic long-wave infrared (LWIR) camera from Xenics. Xenics is Europe’s leading developer and manufacturer of advanced infrared sensors, cameras and customized imaging solutions from the short-wave infrared (SWIR) to the LWIR realm. Ceres T 640 is a VGA (640×480 pixels) LWIR…
May, 2021: The W3+ Fair 2021 in Wetzlar (w3-fair.com) is finally cancelled. The innovative trade fair was originally planned for February this year. The date was last postponed to 6 + 7 July. Now the organizer must pull the plug also here due to Corona: Despite sinking incidences and a positive atmosphere there are still too many…
May, 2021: Rutronik Tech Talk on current topics and relevant trends in the field of sensor technology, UV LEDs and EV Charging! 2021 is yet another extraordinary year in many respects. The electronics industry once again has to face special challenges. On one hand, there’s a global allocation, which lasts since last year and…
May, 2021: Nanoscribe introduces the new IP-PDMS photoresin for 3D Microfabrication of elastomer-based applications, microsystems and devices. The biocompatible printing material is soft, highly flexible and elastic. Thus, IP-PDMS is a promising driver for 3D-printed applications in various fields, such as in life sciences, microfluidics and for microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). These characteristics and the ISO-approved…
May, 2021: In the world of Plano-optics, flatness is the ultimate goal. Precision optics are expected to manipulate light down to the nanometer. The surface accuracy of windows and mirrors is extremely critical to the performance of an optical system. For any laser application where you are transmitting light (window) or reflecting light (mirror), the…
April, 2021: Special fibers support applications in high-temperature and high-vacuum areas and also withstand aggressive substances The new CeramOptec® AL-Fibers are provided with a hermetically sealed metal coating made of aluminum and are thus protected against the penetration of liquids and gases. They are suitable for operating temperatures between -196°C and +400°C, do not outgas even…
April, 2021: Variable expanding of high power laser beams Sill Optics presents the new zoom beam expander S6EXZ0940/574 which is suitable for high power UV lasers at 355 nm. The optical design enables a maximum beam diameter at all lens surfaces inside the beam expander for each magnification from 0.9x up to 4.0x. The telescope…
April 2021: The MICRO Green Laser Module GLM-532/545-003-MICRO-X has an extremely small size of just Ø3.7 x 10mm with an output power of 3mW at wavelength 532nm and 545nm. The operating temperature range -30°C to +60°C allows to use it for various industrial and defense applications in most harsh environment. The energy consumption is very…
