The large-scale international project CHALLENGES, in which SOL instruments participated, has beencompleted
November 2024, SOL instruments is proud to announce outstanding results obtained during the implementation of the
international research project CHALLENGES (Real-time nano-CHAracterization reLatEd techNloGiEeS), which was part of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program and aimed at developing innovative technologies for real-time analysis of nanostructures.
About CHALLENGES
The CHALLENGES project brought together cutting-edge European research institutes and companies striving to develop solutions for high-precision analysis of nanomaterials. The main goal of the project was to create a technology that would enable in-line non-destructive analysis of nanostructures. This is particularly important for high-tech industries such as the microelectronics and semiconductor industries, where accuracy and reliability are critical. The project also aims to implement the developed technologies in real production to improve product quality and competitiveness.
SOL instruments contribution
SOL instruments has completed one of the key objectives of the project – development and production of a prototype of a high-speed, fully automated, high-resolution and high-sensitivity spectrometer, which, when used as part of an atomic force microscope for plasmonic amplification of optical signals, will provide a non-destructive multi-purpose nano-optical method that allows for accurate and reliable measurements at the nanoscale in real time in production environments, what is especially important for quality control in microelectronics and other high-tech areas.
The project has shown the importance of international cooperation and joint innovation in creation of advanced solutions that can change the future of high-tech industries. For more information about the CHALLENGES project you can refer to the official website (https://www.challenges2020.eu/ ) and
