The 20th anniversary of LASER World of Photonics in Shanghai kicked off with great success

March 2025. The 2025 Munich Shanghai Laser Expo, hosted by Munich Exhibition (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., opened grandly on March 11 amid great expectations and warm applause.

2025 is a glorious historical node of the Munich Shanghai Expo. After years of careful polishing, the exhibition finally ushered in the grand celebration of its 20th anniversary . To this end, this exhibition is themed “Continuous Diligence, Intelligent New Journey”, aiming to commemorate the moment of celebration and look forward to a new future with industry professionals.

This year, the Munich Shanghai Photonics Expo, relying on its extensive industry influence over the years, brought together 
more than 1,400 domestic and foreign exhibitors to join the event, setting a new record. At the same time, the exhibition area planning and concurrent activities fully demonstrated the exhibition’s forward-looking layout capabilities and its determination and action to actively explore the new ecology of the industry. In addition to traditional exhibition areas such as laser intelligent manufacturing, lasers and optoelectronics, testing and quality control, optics and optical manufacturing, infrared technology and applications, two new special areas of biomedical photonics and integrated photonics and quantum were added. In addition, the concurrent activities of the exhibition welcomed more international experts and scholars to join, presenting a series of cross-border academic exchanges for the participants.

20 years of milestones, extraordinary

On the first day, many industry partners, academic institutions, scientific research leaders, exhibitors, cooperative media and other representatives came to the opening ceremony of the 2025 Munich Shanghai Laser Expo to witness this extraordinary moment together.

Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer , CEO of Messe München  , Researcher Jin Hong, President of Changchun Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Deputy Director of Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Mr. Gu Bo , Fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering and founder of BOS Photonics , and Mr. Luo Ruiyang, CFO and Deputy General Manager of Messe München (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. , delivered welcome speeches in succession, expressing their enthusiasm and expectations for the 20th anniversary celebration. They also affirmed that this year’s Munich Shanghai Expo has attracted many industry elite companies and experts, laying the foundation for far-reaching cooperation in the industry in the future, and expressed their ardent hope that both upstream and downstream industries will achieve fruitful results during this year’s exhibition.
