POLYURETHANE is highly suitable for polishing ophthalmic lenses, precision optics, mirrors, flat glass, as well as ceramic surfaces. This material is characterized by its microcellular structure.
It consists of millions of pores in polyurethane foam of varying densities. Some of the types listed below are already impregnated with zirconium oxide or cerium oxide; however, when polishing, a zirconium oxide or cerium oxide suspension is still required.
For fine grinding, silicon carbide, synthetic and natural corundum, natural or Barton garnet, as well as MICROGRIT suspensions can be used. However, these should only be used in combination with non-impregnated polyurethane.
