UP series for laser battery welding application
EV battery manufacturers rely on the UP series thermopile-based laser power meters to measure the full power of the laser at different positions inside the system. With these measurements, they can retrospectively adjust the laser power output at each step. This dynamic control allows them to optimize the welding process and minimize any fluctuations or deviations in laser power, ensuring consistent and reliable welding.
It takes up to over 100 welds to manufacture an EV battery. If one is faulty because the laser power was off, there is a loss in time, in energy and an environmental waste.
