Optical Engineer

Company: Lithium Lasers. Location: Italy

We are seeking an Optical Engineer with a solid background in laser physics and optical setups to join our technical team. In this role, you will work on laser system development, optical experiments, and laser-material interaction processes, assisting with the setup and optimization of our laser systems in the lab.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain optical systems for laser experiments and micromachining applications.
• Work with the team to optimize laser parameters and ensure system performance.
• Assist in the design and implementation of laser experiments, ensuring precise control of parameters such as pulse duration, energy, and wavelength.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laser systems and optical setups.

• Support experiments related to laser-material interactions, focusing on optimizing processes for precision micromachining.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and scientists to refine laser processing techniques.

Laboratory Work & Team Collaboration

• Work hands-on in the laboratory environment, ensuring optimal operation of equipment and systems.
• Provide technical support to the team on laser-related projects.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments and results to document progress and findings.

What We’re Looking For

Technical Skills

• Degree in Physics, Engineering (Optics, Photonics) or related field.
• Strong understanding of laser physics, optical systems, and laser-material interaction.
• Hands-on experience with optical setups and laser laboratory work (1-2 years of experience).
• Familiarity with laser systems, optics, and precision equipment used in a laboratory setting.
• Experience with laser alignment, optical bench setups, and troubleshooting.
