Lead Optical Quality Control Technician

Archer OpTx, Inc. is seeking experienced Optical Quality Control Technicians. Selected candidates will assist with training and mentoring junior technicians and assist management with the day-to-day operations of the quality control team. Works alongside other technicians and engineers to maintain the ultra-high quality standards that Archer OpTx, Inc. is known for worldwide. He or she will be responsible for performing optical component inspections utilizing the most sophisticated optical inspection equipment in the industry to characterize all of our product offerings. He or she will also assemble, test, and repair complex optical assemblies, using techniques of optical alignment, attachment, metrology, and testing on individual optical components, sub-assemblies, and complete optical assemblies. The ability to communicate effectively and the ability to interpret a variety of data is required. It is also important that the Advanced Optical Quality Control Technician be flexible, as the day-to-day requirements may vary. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time.   • Interpret and work from drawings, sketches, and technical specifications to complete inspections.
  • Perform machine setup and calibration based on provided instructions.
  • Operate and inspect components using an inspection microscope.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company standards.
  • Exhibit a consistently positive and professional attitude.
  • Follow instructions accurately, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Train and mentor other optical quality control technicians.
  • Adhere to schedules and meet project deadlines consistently.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and consistency.
  • Possess strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Utilize basic Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Understand basic principles of optics and optical inspection.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Laser Electro-Optics or related field, or equivalent certificate (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years in an optical lab (required).
