Custom-made solutions – from one hand

The Foehrenbach Group, founded in 1975, is developer and producer of high-precision components, units and systems for linear and rotary movements of the automation technology and precision machinery industry. Products of Föhrenbach are solutions for guided slide, drive, movement, control and positioning requirements. Additionally Föhrenbach offers products to complete the portfolio for customized complete solutions up to special machines. Foehrenbach serves with about 70 employees well-known customers of the general machinery industry but also of specific branches such as laser technology, grinding, measuring- and checking, palletising/packaging machine industry, CNC machines or medical technology. Additional production plants in Switzerland (Weinfelden) and Ireland (Sligo), all state-of-the-art production facilities with a large manufacturing range for highest quality standards, ensure short delivery times and just-in-time service for the customers.

The product range includes manual slide guides, rotary tables and rotation axes, motorized precision slides (linear motor axis and spindle drive), multi axis systems, control systems and drives. Foehrenbach also develops customer-specific complete solutions and special machines, incl. application-optimised CNC control units, which are suitable for these high-precision system components.

In laser processing, the handling technology is as relevant to the quality of the final product as the laser itself. Foehrenbach masters all parameters which positioning systems have to fulfil for the use in demanding laser applications. These are, for example, a compact design, high dynamics and moment rigidity, positioning accuracy in the range of a few micrometres and high axial run-out accuracy and concentricity. Foehrenbach components and complete systems represent – down to the smallest detail – decades of experience with the constantly growing requirements in laser machine construction. The precisely coordinated interaction of positioning system and tool is the key to quality and productivity in laser processing.

With high demands on accuracy and dynamics, the base frame in welded construction or hard stone is also a possible and reasonable part of the scope of supply. For individual customer applications, all axes are specified, assembled, aligned, measured, tested and recorded – according to desired specifications. By means of hard stone, the required accuracies can be achieved. Hard stone offers all the characteristics required – ranging from a small coefficient of expansion, high abrasion resistance, optimum vibration damping, absence of unwanted residual stresses up to the necessary accuracies regarding flatness, parallelisms and angularity.
