Senior Photonics Engineer

Germany, we are looking for talented photonics engineers with strong analytical skills and a
solid background in the design and characterization of photonic ICs (PICs).

Job description:

• Design, simulations, and layout of integrated photonic devices for lasers and Kerr comb solutions.
• Develop characterization setup and contribute to characterization and test effort of ultra-low noise lasers and Kerr comb PICs.
• Participation in the mechanical design of the prototypes.
• Reporting and documentation of system development progress.

• MSc + 4 or PhD in physics, photonics or adjacent fields.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas : III-V semiconductor lasers and
  optoelectronics, silicon photonics design, nonlinear photonics/Kerr frequency combs,
  RF engineering, optical/electrical packaging, photonics system design, photonics
  devices testing, electronics.
• Experience with FDTD simulators, GDS design tools, Python/MATLAB.
• Knowledge in development of electronic and photonic subsystems, and system
  control software would be a plus.
• Industrial experience preferred.
• Excellent proficiency of English, fluency in German highly desirable
