Optical Coating Technician at Andover
November, 2021: Andover Corporation is looking for an energetic, dedicated individual to fill a permanent full-time position as a Coating Technician on the second shift. Primary responsibilities will include operation and maintenance of ion-assisted electron beam deposition systems and magnetron sputtering systems, including disassembly, cleaning and reassembly, and handling and preparation of stock and customer-supplied substrates. All training will be provided; relevant experience is a plus.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Experience with vacuum-deposited coatings
- Mechanical assembly and disassembly experience - 1-3 years preferred in a manufacturing setting
- Two years of college or vocational/technical training
- Math, science and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to learn and take direction well
- Ability to take good notes and follow standard procedures without deviation
- Interest in process and willingness to ask questions
- Ability to work with hand tools, screwdrivers and X-acto knives
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Filemaker Pro
- Free from allergy to latex, acetone, or methanol alcohol
