Modulight: Semiconductor engineer

February 2021: Modulight is rapidly growing biomedical & laser company headquartered in Tampere, Finland. We have 5+ years of consecutive high growth with very high profitability. Thanks to our world class customers showing trust on our laser family, we are recruiting a lot. During the past year or so 20+ engineers have joined our tight knit laser family. 

Multiple positions for MBE/MOCVD, RF testing & design, laser design/simulation, process development both front-end and back-end etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop laser diode products and processes
  • Work with customers on cutting edge applications and new laser solutions;
  • Integration and test support
  • Developing and documenting procedures to sustain and evolve high quality performance, Providing technical support to Manufacturing, Marketing and Service
  • Creating specifications to purchase components, and test equipment
  • Provide technical solutions to various semiconductor production related demands.
  • Provide thorough documentation of work performed.
  • Develop plans and procedures for fabrication of components, and for assembly, test and integration of optical systems.
  • Conduct engineering analyses and evaluation of semiconductor processes
  • The successful candidate will contribute to the research and engineering of the next generation laser products as well as provide support to existing products
  • Contributing new and unique ideas as a member of a highly skilled technical team

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the areas: semiconductor laser design, epitaxy, processing, packaging or characterization of optoelectronic devices
  • Demonstrated high academic records and demonstrated ability to complete things that you start;
  • Team-player who both shares and listens
  • Handling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously within a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience with data analysis and simulation tools, such as MATLAB, Python, etc.
  • Experience in developing and operating electro-optic test stations
  • The position requires highly motivated, extremely organized, and self-driven individual
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and interest to constantly learn more
  • Handling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously within a rapidly changing environment
  • Have a curious demeanour and enjoy solving difficult problems
  • As a member of the engineering team, this position will work closely with other engineers in the design and development of state-of-the-art laser industry. The successful candidate must excel in a project team environment, be able to find solutions to problems from rough requirements and have a commitment to high product quality
  • Good technical documentation skills in written English
  • Organized, methodical and careful with Strong self-motivation.
