Equipment Engineering Manager UK

Our optical components and lasers play a pivotal role in shaping modern communication networks and cutting-edge applications like 3D sensing. With our headquarters in Milpitas, California and a global presence, we are seeking a passionate Equipment Engineering Manager to lead our Wafer Fab team at our Caswell chip manufacturing facility in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the dynamic Wafer Fab Equipment Engineering team in a 24x7 operation environment.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Process Engineering to enhance efficiency and yield through effective equipment support.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment performance, reducing bottlenecks and enhancing production capabilities.
- Contribute to yield enhancement strategies, making a direct impact on our cutting-edge semiconductor technology.
- Establish critical spares inventory and ensure supply chain continuity for smooth operations.
- Shape engineering initiatives and support new tooling programs, contributing to manufacturing capacity and capabilities.
- Be part of strategic planning for annual and long-term objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (2nd Class or equivalent) in Semiconductor Engineering or related field.
- Proven success in a supervisory role within semiconductor manufacturing.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for driving process improvements.
Skills & Experience:
- Background in equipment engineering with a focus on process and team development.
- Proficiency in semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and high-technology production environments.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom or laboratory setting.
- Competent PC user (Microsoft Office proficiency).
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication techniques, especially III-V based devices.
- Understanding of photonic integrated circuit manufacture.
Additional Information:
- This role involves working in a cleanroom environment with proper attire.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
- Training provided for using Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
- Availability for off-hours support and guidance.
