During this year’s trade fair Formnext, Nanoscribe presented novel solutions for the rapid fabrication of millimeter-sized parts for the first time. New advances in 3D microprinting reduce the print times of smallest structures in millimeter sizes, keeping micrometer precision. With these developments, the limits of the microfabrication process based on two-photon polymerization (2PP) expand toward the macroscale. Nanoscribe’s 3D printers now bridge the gap between micro and macro 3D printing.
The 2PP-based 3D printers provide nearly 100-fold higher resolution and smaller feature sizes than standard 3D printers, as represented in the infographic. The high-resolution 3D printers feature a significantly increased process speed with a smart interplay of matching components. The fast additive manufacturing of extremely precise parts finds applications, e.g., in rapid prototyping, biomedical engineering and micromechanics.
