LEJ and Avantes cooperate in first product development project

For applications such as transmission, absorption and reflection, illumination sources are needed. Avantes offers, amongst others, compact, affordable light sources meant for fluorescence applications, that produce continuous or pulsed spectral output at different wavelengths. To meet the demand of the market for an improved LED light source, Avantes decided to utilize LEJ’s (LEJ  ||  Lighting & Electronics Jena) core competencies, the development and manufacturing of leading-edge Illumination Solutions. As a first step LEJ was tasked to re-invent Avantes’ LED Light Sources for Fluorescence Applications. After a short development and qualification period Avantes is now in the position to offer a most competitive product to its scientific and industrial partners. With its design consisting of a base unit plus exchangeable LED heads, Avantes’ customers have access to a product offering a performance improvement of factor 50 while maintaining form factor and enhancing usability.

Both companies are convinced to have achieved a great development result which is now entering the market. Based on this common success it is the goal to intensify the partnership in the future.
